Fashion Coordinator II (Lead Assistant – Limited Authority)

Location: RVA Fashion Week 2026 (Event-Based / Seasonal)

Reports To: Fashion Operations Manager

Authority Level: Limited Supervisory Support | No Executive Power

Role Overview

The Fashion Coordinator II serves as a Lead Assistant to the Fashion Operations Manager

and helps oversee the execution of backstage operations under direct supervision. This role

supports workflow, and escalates all issues to the Fashion

Operations Manager for final approval.

Primary Responsibilities

● Assist with designer and model check-ins

● Support fittings, rehearsals, and run-throughs

● Help monitor run-of-show timing (final decisions made by the Fashion Operations

Manager)

● Serve as a communication relay between backstage teams and leadership

● Oversee assigned backstage zones (as directed)

● Coordinate quick-change teams under supervision

● Flag emergencies, delays, or issues immediately to leadership

● Prepare status updates during production

● Assist with wrap-up procedures after the show

What This Role Does NOT Do

● Does not approve casting, schedule, or lineup changes

● Does not make creative or financial decisions

● Does not negotiate with vendors, sponsors, or designers

● Does not override Fashion Operations Manager authority

● Does not speak on behalf of RVAFW in media or executive settings

Qualifications

● Prior experience in fashion production, backstage management, or event coordination

● Strong leadership and communication skills

● Ability to manage team workflow without overstepping authority

● High-level professionalism and confidentiality

● Availability for pre-show preparation and show days
